EFCC Orders Arrest of Ex-Officer Caught on Lege Miami’s Matchmaking Show

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ordered the arrest of Olakunle Alex Folarin, a former staff member who was recently featured on a matchmaking live programme hosted by popular entertainer Lege Miami on social media platforms.

Folarin, who served as a driver at the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was dismissed from the Commission for certificate forgery. Despite his dismissal, he was found to still be in possession of EFCC properties, including an identity card, which he failed to return. This prompted EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede to direct his arrest for unlawfully retaining official items.

In a statement issued by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the Commission condemned Folarin’s involvement in the matchmaking programme and clarified that his post-dismissal activities are not associated with the EFCC. The public has been advised not to link his actions to the Commission.

This development has sparked discussions online, with many questioning the accountability of former public servants and the importance of adhering to ethical standards even after employment.

The EFCC continues to emphasize its commitment to integrity and transparency, urging the public to report any misconduct by former or current staff members.
