Obasanjo Criticizes Tinubu, Says He Surpasses Buhari in Poor Governance

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed concerns about President Bola Tinubu’s administration, suggesting that it is following a similar path of poor governance as the previous administration under Muhammadu Buhari.
In his recent book, Nigeria: Past and Future, Obasanjo compares the two presidencies, stating that Tinubu’s government is “competing with Buhari’s in inefficiency” and describes Buhari’s administration as the “worst civil administration” in Nigeria’s history.
Obasanjo criticizes both administrations for their handling of economic challenges, insecurity, and rising unemployment.
He recalls that Buhari had once described Shehu Shagari’s government as corrupt and rudderless but failed to live up to his own promises when he became president.
Similarly, Obasanjo expresses disappointment with the Tinubu administration, saying it has brought little relief to Nigerians, particularly with the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira.
These remarks have sparked discussions about the current state of governance in Nigeria and the effectiveness of leadership transitions.
