Charlie Kirk’s Widow Publicly Forgives Alleged Killer at Memorial Service

Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, publicly forgave her husband’s alleged killer during a memorial service on September 21, 2025, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Addressing a crowd of 90,000, she stated, “I forgive him because it was what Christ did. And it is what Charlie would do,” emphasizing forgiveness as central to her faith and her late husband’s beliefs.
Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, during a Q&A session at Utah Valley University. The alleged shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, reportedly confessed to the act in online messages, citing opposition to Kirk’s views as motivation.
Following the incident, Robinson was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and related offenses, with prosecutors indicating their intent to seek the death penalty.
In her speech, Erika Kirk revealed that her husband had been preparing a sermon for an upcoming event, underscoring his unwavering commitment to his beliefs.
She urged attendees not to let his death harden their hearts but to follow the path of forgiveness and faith that defined his life.
The memorial service also featured tributes from prominent figures, including former President Donald Trump, who praised Charlie Kirk as a martyr for freedom and a steadfast defender of American values.
Erika Kirk has since been appointed as the new CEO of Turning Point USA, her late husband’s organization, vowing to continue his mission.
