Woli Arole Cautions Fans Who Slide Into His DM With Just ‘Hi,’ Calls It Disrespectful

Comedian and actor Woli Arole has sparked reactions online after addressing how people approach him in his direct messages.
In a recent post, the comic star expressed his displeasure with fans who slide into his DM with nothing more than a plain “Hi Arole.” According to him, such greetings are rude and impolite, and he made it clear he won’t be replying to anyone who starts a conversation that way.
Woli Arole noted that people should learn how to communicate respectfully and directly, especially when reaching out to someone on social media. For him, a simple “Hello Arole, how are you doing?” or stating one’s purpose upfront is more appropriate than just dropping a bare “Hi.”
His statement has stirred mixed reactions:
Some fans agree with him, saying that people should indeed be more polite and intentional when sending messages.
Others, however, believe a simple “Hi” shouldn’t be taken so seriously, arguing that it’s a casual way of starting a conversation.
Still, Woli Arole stands firm. “I find it rude and impolite. I won’t reply YOU,” he wrote, making it clear that the days of sending him a one-word greeting are over.
The post has since generated debates across social platforms, with many asking: is saying just “Hi” really rude, or is it just harmless?
