Groom Cancels Wedding After Father-in-Law Took Guests to Buka Despite Spending Millions

What was meant to be a joyous celebration turned into shocking drama when a groom called off his wedding on the spot after discovering how his father-in-law handled the wedding funds.

According to an eyewitness on TikTok, the groom had recently returned from abroad and given the bride’s family a substantial amount of money to prepare food and drinks for the wedding. With millions reportedly spent, expectations were high for a grand feast to entertain guests.

However, after the wedding ceremony, the father of the bride allegedly decided to take matters into his own hands. Instead of organizing a lavish reception, he reportedly took guests to a local buka (roadside eatery) where they were served regular meals.

The groom, who was stunned and embarrassed by the turn of events, is said to have confronted his new in-laws about the decision. Realizing that most of the money he sent for the wedding preparations had allegedly been pocketed, he declared he could no longer go ahead with the marriage.

Witnesses claim the groom immediately gathered his family members and left the venue — without his bride. In a heartbreaking scene, the bride, still in her wedding gown, reportedly ran after the departing vehicle in tears. She was eventually picked up some kilometers away.

The incident has since sparked heated discussions on social media, with many questioning the father-in-law’s actions and others debating whether the groom’s decision to walk away was justified.
