AC Milan Cancel $32M Victor Boniface Deal After Failed Medicals

AC Milan has called off its proposed transfer of  its proposed transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen after he failed mandatory medical examinations.

The deal, which was structured as a €5 million loan with an additional €24 million option to buy, collapsed even after Boniface had arrived in Milan within the past 48 hours to finalize the move.

Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on Sunday, stating:
“AC Milan have called off the Victor Boniface deal as the Nigerian striker did not pass his medicals. Despite a verbal agreement for a €5m loan fee and €24m buy clause, with the player already in Milan in the last 48 hours, the deal is off due to medical issues. Boniface will return to Germany today.”

Reports further suggest that the 24-year-old forward’s history of fitness concerns raised red flags during the medical checks. Boniface has previously undergone two anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgeries and continues to struggle with recurring groin problems—issues that have significantly affected his availability on the pitch.
