Sanwo-Olu Unblocks, Apologizes to Human Rights Lawyer on X After Peace Meeting

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has unblocked human rights lawyer Festus Ogun on X (formerly Twitter) and issued an apology following a peace meeting at Lagos House, Marina.

The meeting comes after Ogun had previously raised concerns about being blocked by the governor on the platform, citing it as a restriction on his right to access information and engage in public discourse.

Ogun shared updates from the meeting on X, expressing appreciation to his legal team, including Desmond Tobe Oris, for facilitating the dialogue. “Peace and constructive engagement win over prolonged disputes,” Ogun wrote.

The reconciliation has been welcomed by observers who view it as a step toward open communication and mutual respect between public officials and citizens. The governor’s apology and decision to unblock Ogun signal a commitment to dialogue and responsiveness to public concerns.
