FBI Confirms Tyler as Suspect, DNA Found at Charlie Kirk Shooting Scene

The FBI has confirmed that DNA collected from the scene of the fatal shooting of U.S. conservative influencer Charlie Kirk has been matched to 22-year-old suspect Tyler Robinson.

Authorities revealed that Robinson’s DNA was found on a towel wrapped around the rifle used to kill Kirk, as well as on a screwdriver recovered from the roof of Utah Valley University, where the tragic incident took place.

The discovery of this evidence has strengthened the case against Robinson, who has been identified as the lone suspect in the attack.

Charlie Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while speaking during his “American Comeback Tour” at the university.

The event, intended to promote conservative values among college students, drew an audience of approximately 3,000 attendees. Witnesses have raised concerns over the lack of sufficient security measures, such as bag checks or metal detectors, at the event.

Robinson reportedly turned himself in following surveillance releases and evidence linking him to the crime. Investigators also found a note expressing his intent to target Kirk. Officials are preparing to file capital murder charges against him.

The shooting has ignited national debates over political violence and campus security, with vigils and memorials held in honor of Kirk across the country. Authorities continue to investigate the motive and circumstances surrounding the attack, emphasizing the need for heightened safety at public events.
