Comedian Sanku Died Owing ₦13 Million on Loaned Car, Guarantor Reveals

The tragic death of Nigerian comedian and TikTok sensation Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Sanku, has taken a new turn with revelations about his financial dealings.

Folorunsho Olayinka, a content creator known as Finest, has disclosed that Sanku was still indebted to a car dealer for a 2012 Lexus RX 350 SUV at the time of his fatal accident.

According to Olayinka, he stood as a guarantor for Sanku’s vehicle purchase, which amounted to ₦25.4 million.

A receipt from JJ Motors Empire and Services Limited, dated June 5, 2025, indicates that only ₦7 million had been paid at the time of purchase. Olayinka confirmed that Sanku had paid a total of ₦12.28 million towards the vehicle, leaving an outstanding balance of approximately ₦13 million.

In a TikTok livestream, Olayinka emphasized that he was merely a guarantor for the vehicle loan, not the primary borrower. He stated,

“I was only a guarantor because the car dealer knew me. I wasn’t the one who told him to come to Ilorin; he was the one who requested a driver, which I provided for him.”

Olayinka further clarified that he had no involvement in the circumstances leading to Sanku’s death and expressed his willingness to assist with medical expenses for those affected by the accident.

Sanku tragically lost his life in a car accident along Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State. Just days before his passing, on August 4, 2025, he released a skit depicting himself in heaven, expressing disappointment at the absence of many people he had expected to meet.

In the video, he jokingly urged his partner to head to hell so they could enjoy life together.

The revelation of Sanku’s financial obligations adds a complex layer to the narrative of his untimely death.
