Labour Party Chairman Julius Abure Allegedly Attacks Activist Mama Pee at Airport

Labour Party Chairman Julius Abure has been accused of orchestrating an attack on youth advocate Mama Pee.
Youth advocate Mama Pee has accused Abure of orchestrating an attack against her following a recent flight from Abuja to Benin.
In a video circulating online, Mama Pee claimed that she was assaulted by a group of operatives, locally referred to as “Thugs,” shortly after arriving in Benin.
According to her, “The attack may be linked to an ongoing dispute between her and Abure. She alleged that Abure had reached out to these individuals to carry out the assault upon her arrival.”
Mama Pee appeared visibly distressed in the video and insisted she would continue her advocacy work despite the attack, emphasizing her commitment to exposing corruption and political malpractice.
Julius Abure is no stranger to controversy. In February 2024, he was arrested by the Edo State Police on allegations of attempted murder following a petition by former Labour Party Youth Leader Comrade Eragbe Anselm Aphimia.
Abure was accused of orchestrating an attack on Aphimia and a colleague in December 2023 but was released on bail the following day. The Labour Party has also been embroiled in internal conflicts, with the Supreme Court nullifying a previous judgment recognizing Abure as the party’s legitimate national chairman in April 2025.
As of now, neither Julius Abure nor the Labour Party has officially responded to Mama Pee’s latest allegations.
